Salsa Rocks!

Yesterday I met one of my friends who I haven't seen in a long time. She used to work at the same hospital than I did during my community service. She's cool to hang out with so we went to Stuttgart. I had to go by train and I hate that because it's always so boring on there all alone. But once I arrived I enjoyed the evening to the fullest. First we went to a bar and drank cocktails. We talked about lots of things that happened over the last couple of weeks. We really had deep conversations about family, friends and relationships. Even though we know each other for quite a time we really got closer as friends. Once the deep talks were over we wanted to have some more fun and went to a salsa bar. I have never been to one before so this was new for me. But it was really cool. I guess we were one of the few germans in there. There were a lot of latin american people and it was really cool because no one can move like they did yesterday. It was a totally new experience for me and the whole atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming. So we didn't hesitate to go on the dancefloor either. I didn't know how to dance salsa but thank God I'm a quit study and my friend taught me some moves.
To sum up I really had a great night yesterday. Hopefully more to come :)

MYA MYA MYA MYA MYA ALL OVER THE PLACE!

Well as you guys may have noticed I'm addicted to Mýa and after months of waiting for a new song we finally got the new single called 'Paradise'. It's a cool song which will be released in Japan first. But the news go on ... I was browsing through the internet this morning and found the new cover for Mýa's new album 'Sugar and Spice' which will hit stores on December 3d, 2008 but ONLY in Japan. These great news got me feeling high all day long.
At least there was a highlight this day. I really needed one badly. 3 days ago I lost my internet stick that gave me internet access and I had to buy one today for nearly 160 euros. Now that I'm in college I can't afford such things anymore but it's necessary. I was already late about the Mýa news and I don't want to miss any news about her new album in the future. So I bought this stupid stick again. Well, I guess I have to starve the next week haha
Right now I'm at my parents house for the weekend. I haven't seen them for over two weeks so I thought it was about damn time. There is no place like home!
College is doing great so far. It's a lot of stress but I knew from the start that it wouldn't be easy. But at least all of my courses are interesting and I can't wait to let the knowledge of german and english linguistics / literature enter my brain hehe
I'm going back this sunday. I want to meet some of my friends in the meantime and have a good time.

TV Freak!

It's time for my favorit shows to return to TV! I love this time of a year because seasons are starting to air and I finally get to know how my shows continue. Some years ago I had like 8 shows that I was following on a weekly basis. Most of these shows ended or got cancelled or I lost interest in them. Here is a list of the tv series that I watched regulary:

Charmed, Desperate Housewives, Living with Fran, Modern men, King of Queens, Supernatural, The simple life, Pepper Dennis and others that I can't even remember because they only aired for one season or so.

Now you see what I meant with my favorite shows being cancelled and you do the math. Supernatural and Desperate Housewives are the only shows left. Housewives hasn't been that great last season so I lost interest in watching it. I also heard that the last season ended with a five year jump into the future which I thought was a stupid decision. So Supernatural is the only show left for me to watch. And I LOVE this new season. They introduced a new threat to us in the first episodes and things are starting to get really dark which is something I like.
If you don't know the show you should really give it a try. It aires every thursday on the CW right after the hit series Smallville. I would really like to get the DVDs but they are way too expensive so I have to wait till they lower the prize. So far I own the complete Charmed/King of Queens and Roseanne series on DVD. More to come ;)

Truth Or Dare?!

Hey you guys. I'm in my new dorm and I love it. It's small but I just feel save here and I decorated it the way I like it. The other people who are living here in this house are cool as well but I think that everyone here wants to be anonymus. But, oh well. I got here on tuesday with a friend of mine who already lives here. She was showing me everything around here and I have to say...the city is HUGE! At least for me. I grew up in a town with 60,000 inhabitants. It's not that small but you can reach everything by foot. Here I have to go by bus and train but that's ok. Learning by doing ;)
I'm going back home today, though. I have to wash my clothes and get some new stuff for my dorm that I couldn't carry the last time. I'll be back on monday or tuesday the latest. Hopefully with another friend of mine who wants to visit me. It's not like I'm alone here but it's different. All of my friends are either in my hometown or in another city for college. But I have Reeda over here and she's really helping me out a lot and tries to keep me busy. Yesterday we have been at her friends house till 4am. We drank, talked and played the game "Truth or Dare". To make a long story short someone got really upset and left (not me lol) and kind of ruined the night. But everything is back to normal again. So let me give you an advice and NEVER ever play this game at a party. It can get ugly trust me! ;)

F**k it!

I'm so angry right now. Since I have my laptop I got a new internet connection. It worked perferctly ... well, since yesterday. Somehow my new host managed to make my connection so slow that every site takes MINUTES to load completely. They did that because I was downloading so much over the last two weeks. Hello? I have a new laptop and needed so much software that I have to work with for my Mýa site, etc. I guess uploading so many videos to my Youtube account didn't really help either. UGH! Now I have to wait till the end of the month then my connection gets back to normal. Back to where it's supposed to be!!!!!

Anyway, what else is new in my life? I was shopping yesterday with one of my friends. I needed some things for my dorm in Augsburg. I bought some decorative stuff because I want to feel comfortable over there. I'm not in the mood to list what I bought but I will make a picture of my dorm once it's decorated and finished.

Oh and I just got back from my friends house. Rita, who is one of my best friends just got back from Italy and invited me and other friends of ours to her home. We were just chilling and talking. One thing that we came up with was new years eve. So we decided that we want to go to Berlin this year to celebrate. Let's see if this will work out or not. But I guess this time it will be better because last year I had to work on January 1st and couldn't party a lot because I had to wake up at 5am. I was pissed so I hope that the trip to Berlin will actually happen. Let's wait and see.

Doll Domination

I have never been a big fan of the Pussycat dolls. However I enjoyed some of their songs such as 'Buttons', 'Sway', 'I don't need a man' or 'We went as far as we felt like going'. I listened to their first album 'PCD' and didn't really like it. I didn't think that it was bad it just didn't really catch my attention. So when I heard that their sophmore album 'Doll Domination' will be released this year I was sceptical. I gave the album a chance, though. And I have to let you know that I don't regret it. The album is pretty cool and I love nearly every track on it. The only songs I don't like are 'In Person' and 'Elevator'. This is one of the best albums I have heard this year. In my opinion music isn't what it used to be. Most of the artists sound the same nowadays and nothing really stands out anymore. Now I don't say that this new Pussycat dolls album is different to what is out right now but still, the album has great songs, great productions and just feel-good-tracks which is something that I needed. I can't even name a standout song that I like best because there are so many that I can't choose from. The only thing I would have changed is the fact that Nicole is still featured on every song. I know that she is the lead singer of the band but you can at least give them other girls a chance to express their talent. Melody is one of the best singers but still she doesn't get many parts. Nicole is getting annoying and I'm actually kind of glad that her solo career isn't that successful. Her voice is everywhere and I hate that sometimes. Anyway, give this album a chance and get your copy of 'Doll Domination'.

Life and Stuff!

I didn't post a blog for quite a time. As I told you guys before I was in Augsburg yesterday to see the room that I will live in while I'm in college. It's small but I liked it. Fortunately a friend of mine brought me to my 'new' place with her car so I saved some money. When I go by train I have to pay 54 euros for getting there and going back. And you should know that I'm broke most of them time haha
Everyone there was very friendly to me and I felt like I will be able to make myself comfortable over there which is very important to me since it's far away from home and I have to stay there for quite a time. After seeing my room for the first time I was at a restaurant eating lunch with my friends who already live there. I had a HUGE salad with pineapple...sounds weird but tasted AMAZING! Back home I fell asleep because it was a long drive and I was on my feet the whole day. I know I said I wanted to take some pics but busy little me forgot the camera ;)
I will go back to Augsburg next week. This time I will stay there longer. Maybe for 3 or 4 days because I want to get to know the city better and see college for the first time and just getting comfortable. I will take my camera with me this time around. PROMISE! =)

Well, today was a great day, too. I was at my friends place for like 6 or 7 hours. Belli is one of my friends I know from my community service. She is really cool and we talked about so many things, watched TV and a movie on DVD. The movie was called 'The Island' starring Scarlett Johanson. It was a great movie that really caught my attention. I mean even though this certain experiment doesn't exist yet doesn't mean that mankind will never do this. And when it's about to come then I know that human beings will act the same exact way. This movie is really interesting and I can highly recomment it to everyone.

Boring!

This has to be the worst day I had in a long time. I'm so bored. Nobody wants to do anything, the weather is bad and there is nothing good on TV except 'Supernanny'...and it wasn't that great today. The only thing I did was spending time in front of my laptop, editing and uploading some Mýa videos. I created a new youtube.com account for my Mýa site (www.myaharrison.net) and added a few rare videos for my users. I already have 4 which is good considering that the account is up since yesterday. So come on Mýa fans and support my channel.
I hope tomorrow is a brighter day for me. The only thing I can look forward to is my move to Augsburg which is the city I'm moving to for college. I'm getting my keys on monday and I'm going to move some things that I need over there on monday, too. I will spent like 2 or 3 days there and get back to my hometown again. I just have to get to know the city before college starts. I will let you know how everything works out and I will take some pictures.

Guess what got delivered today! Yeah you are right. I finally have a brand new and wonderful laptop that I can call my own. I'm actually writing this from it haha. It's really great. I love it. I even have my own internet connection on it. So when I'm in college this year I will still be able to talk to my friends online from time to time. Here are some pics that I took:





Now lets talk about the video music awards 2008. I watched them live with one of my friends who was on the phone. To be honest with you I'm really disappointed in what they had to offer this year. Britney opened the VMAs but I didn't even get what she wanted to tell us with her little 'joke'. I was really happy to see her back on the scene again, though. She looks better than ever and I hope that she will finally come around. She won 3 awards. I was so proud of her. This years performances weren't that great. Rihanna sucked vocally, Xtina lip synched as did T.I. and I couldn't care less about Lil' Wayne. I really enjoyed P!nk's performance, though. She is a wonderful live singer and could teach Rihanna A LOT. Flop of the evening was the host. I don't remember his name but I think that he was really stupid. I didn't think it was funny to make jokes about the Jonas Brothers sexuality/virginity. I loooooved Jordin Sparks for helping them out and fighting back. He was such a loser. I hope he will get baned from next years VMAs. To sum up the VMAs get worse each year.

Happy Birthday Leyla!

Today is my friends birthday. Leyla is a girl that I know back from my school days and we really got along very well. She is also the one I told you guys about in one of my first posts who called me after we haven't seen each other in ages. She didn't want to have a huge birthday party and just invited me and another friend of us called Nora to have a couple of drinks. First we went to a chinese restaurant and I'm so in love with their kind of food. When I eat it I'm happy but afterwards I could vomit because I'm always so full. My stomach still hurts! Lol
After that we went to a bar that we liked and drank some cocktails. It was really a nice time and we talked about so many things that happened in the past and we all kind of miss school. Not because of what we had to study but because of seeing each other on a daily basis. We still have a lot of catch up to do! Thank you Leyla and Nora for such a wonderful evening. How can a guy be unhappy when he is surrounded only by girls?! Haha

I just can't get enough of music!

I love music and always try to listen to a lot of albums that come out to be up to date. That's why I had like 10 albums that I still had to give a listen. Yesterday was a boring day so I thought I will give some of them a try. Here are the albums that I have listened to with my rating:


5/10 She chose the best songs to be released as singles. The rest is forgettable! Highlight is 'Warwick avenue'.


6,5/10 Jordin Sparks has an amazing voice. I love her song 'Tattoo'. This song alone makes me like the album. There are a couple of weird songs on the album, though. They sound like fillers. But half of the album is amazing. Highlight is 'Tattoo'.


7/10 I'm more into R'n'B but I just had to buy the album because 'I kissed a girl' is one of my favorite songs right now. The album is pretty good. There are only like 4 songs that I didn't enjoy. For example 'Lost' and 'Mannequin'. Maybe my rating is a bit too good for the first listen. Because I have the feeling that in a couple of months I will see the album again and think about listening to it but then decide that I won't...I hope I'm wrong. Let's wait and see. Highlight 'You are so gay' and 'If you can afford me'.


5/10 I have never really been a fan of Madonna. I don't think that she is a good singer at all. More to that later. Still, I liked '4 minutes' and thought I'd give the album a try. It was a huge letdown. Out of 12 songs I only like 6. And it's not like I don't care for the rest...I hate the rest. Production wise the album is ok BUT I have a huge problem with her voice. She sounds so childish in most of the songs which made me emberresed. I give this album 5 points out of 10, though because the songs that I like are really really cool. Highlight on this album is 'Voices'.


4/10 I'm highly disappointed with Michelle Williams effort. I loved the leaked tracks like 'Stop this car' or 'Hello heartbreak'. I never really understood why she went with 'We break the dawn' as the lead single when even the remix to this song is 1000 times better. But oh well. I always liked her and showed her some love (even with her other solo projects) and so I did the same with 'Unexpected'. Out of 15 songs only 5 are enjoyable to me. While listening to the songs I was thinking that she was trying way to hard to get away from her gospel roots. This is definitely not a good look for her. Highlight: 'Stop this car'.


7/10 Great album. 'This Bird' was a mistake but the rest is really cool. I enjoy her 60s style. Highlights on this album are 'Dancing in the dark' and 'Would've been the one'. Too bad she is not marketed right!


6/10 Not bad at all but something is missing. Highlight 'Like a bullet' and 'Revolution'.

I also listened to all of Monica's albums again. I'm a big fan of hers. If I had to rank her albums it would look like this:

01.) After the storm (Highlight is definitely 'Breaks my heart')
02.) The boy is mine (Highlight is of course 'The boy is mine' along with 'Angel of mine')
03.) Miss thang (Highlight 'One of dem days (Don't take it personal'))
04.) The makings of me (Highlight 'Everytime the beat drops')

Ok now let me tell you a story. I talked to one of my MSN buddies yesterday and we kind off were arguing about Madonna. I told him the same I did mention before when I was rating her album 'Hard candy' which is that I don't really think that she has a good voice. And I HATE it when people are always blinded by her status. OF COURSE she is legendary, OF COURSE she sold millions and millions of records and OF COURSE she has an extremely huge fanbase (even today) but all of that doesn't mean that she is a good singer. Especially when you listen to her recent performances. I mean it's normal. She got older and a voice changes over the years as did hers. I don't say that she is really bad I just told him that there are thousands of other people all around the world with either the same voice or even a better one. Madonna isn't necesserely known for her voice but for her style, her provocations, her lyrics and her looks. And lets be honest...Jordin Sparks, Xtina, Mariah Carey hell, even Mýa HAVE a higher vocal range than Madonna has. That's a fact. Don't you agree? I hate it when others are blinded by her fame and refuse to see reality. Period!

I love me some Jack&Jones

Where I live there is only a small Jack&Jones store but it doesnt really feature a lot of things. So I was browsing through the internet for some new J&J tshirts and couldnt find anything. Even the official Jack&Jones online store doesnt have great things as most of the tshirts are only available in size XL which is something that I don't understand. My last chance was ebay. So I went to their site, found a great tshirt (a new one) in size M and bought it. I can't wait for it to be delivered. Do you like it?

Ok, this is not supposed to be a gossip blog or whatever. But I just HAD to post this video. It pretty much made my whole day. I was laughing so hard but on the other hand I was shocked. I ask you now ... how can you trick people in making them believe that you actually have talent? When I first saw this I was like 'Give your fans their money back'. This is unbelievable. Which makes me wonder how someone with a voice like that was able to sell millions of records. Shame on you Britney Spears. Watch the video below:

I'm glad that I found this video because my day didn't start the way I wanted. I got stood up today. And I hate that. I wanted to go out with a friend of mine. Eat breakfast somewhere in the city. Since I finished with work I was really looking forward to such things. But my friend overslept. I was angry about that because to overlseep is no real reason for me to let a friend down. If you really wanted to go out then you somehow could have managed to wake up! :(

What A Day!

Sundays are always fun to me because I usually never do anything at all besides watching movies or hanging out at my place chatting with friends. This sunday wasn't different. I just finished watching the movie 'Meet Dave'. It is a cool movie with great jokes. I liked the trailer and decided to give the movie a chance and it didn't let me down. I also ordered a new laptop online today. It's my first one ever. I thought it would be nice to have one when I'm in college and since I worked hard the last year and earned some money I thought I deserved it. I hope it gets delivered real fast. Look at my new laptop here:


Yellow is one of my favorite colors and it looks so great on a laptop and since yellow is not a color everyone has it's a special one. I like it. What do you think?

This day had another surprise for me. As I was ordering the laptop a friend of mine called me on the phone. Now what's so unusual about that you may ask. The thing is that I haven't spoken to this certain friend in such a long time. I think the last time we spoke on the phone was in february. It's not like we were having a fight but she's always busy with work as was I and so we totally forgot about the other one. But I'm so glad that she called. We talked about 2 and a half hours. We had lots of things to say because so much has changed over the last couple of months. So if you guys have friends you didn't see or talk to in a minute don't let your pride get in the way. Friendships are the most important things on earth. Shoutout to all of my friends! :)

What Happened To Lil' Kim?

I used to be a big fan of the remake of Patte La Belles 'Lady Marmalade' which was performed by Mýa, P!nk, Xtina and Lil' Kim. That was also the first time I noticed Lil' Kim. I gave her music a chance and listened to her albums ... I liked them. But what the f!ck happened to her face? Why did she ruin it over the years?? Not that I thought she was sexy at the beginning but at least she had a decent look. But now that I found these new pictures of her ... I'm shocked!

So, now I have my own blog as well ... Yayness. In the following days/weeks/months or even years I will post anything that concerns my life.
